Waziri Muhongo akataa chakula hotelini aenda kwa mamalishe

Profesa Muhongo WAZIRI wa Nishati na Madini, Profesa Sospeter Muhongo amekataa chakula Hoteli ya Mount Meru na kwenda kula chakula cha Mamalishe. Tukio hilo lililowashangaza watu 13 waliokuwa katika msafara wake lilitokea hivi karibu wakati Profesa Muhongo alipokwenda Arusha kwenye mkutano wa wataalamu wa umeme wa nchi 11 za Afrika Mashariki, Kati na Kaskazini. Waziri Muhongo aliandaliwa chakula hotelini hapo, lakini aliwashangaza wenyeji wake ambao ni Shirika la Umeme Tanzania (Tanesco) na uongozi wa wizara yake. Baada ya kufika katika mgahawa wa Pizza Point uliopo katikati ya mji wa Arusha, Waziri Muhongo aliagiza ugali na samaki kwa bei ya Sh7,000. Tukio la waziri huyo kukataa kula chakula cha usiku katika hoteli hiyo ya kifahari, iliwashangaza hata wafanyakazi wa mgahawa huo baada ya kupata taarifa hiyo. Ingawa haikufahamika mara moja sababu za waziri huyo kukataa kula katika hoteli hiyo kutokana na kuchukua uamuzi ghafla, lakini taarifa za ndani zinadai haku

MALKIA wa mipasho nchini, Khadija Kopa, juzi (Jumamosi) alifunika vilivyo katika Tamasha la Mitikisiko ya Pwani lililofanyika ndani ya ukumbi wa kisasa wa Dar Live uliopo Mbagala Zakhem jijini Dar. Khadija Kopa na vijana wake wakiwa wameiteka Dar Live kwa burudani. Tamasha hilo lilipambwa na makundi mbalimbali ya taarab yakiwemo Jahazi, Coastal, TOT na mengineyo. Watangazaji mahiri kutoka Times Radio wakiongozwa na Gardner G Habash na Khadija Shaibu 'Dida' walinogesha tamasha hilo na kulifanya liwe la kipekee. Kiongozi wa Kundi la Jahazi Modern Taarab, Mzee Yusuf 'Mfalme', akiimba na mashabiki wake. Mke wa Mfalme, Leila Rashid, akilipamba Tamasha la Mitikisiko ya Pwani ndani ya Dar Live. U.S. Embassy Election Day Reception Showcases American Democracy in Dar es salaam this morning

 U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania Alfonso E. Lenhardt making remarks after the announcement of media outlets projections indicating that President Barack Obama has won re-election at breakfast reception held on this morning of November 7, 2012  at the U.S Embassy in Dar es Salaam.  Ambassador Lenhardt stressed that regardless of the results, Tanzania will continue to count on the support of the United States of America. He also noted that "The mystery and beauty of democracy is crystallized in moments such as these.  The one lesson we can all reflect on is that there can be no real democracy in the United States, Tanzania, or any other nation without the peaceful acceptance of victory or defeat, the resolution to compete again, and to respect one another as citizens despite any political differences.  Citizens must honor elections achieved through fair, transparent, and democratic means.  That principle is exemplified in today's American elections," U.S. Ambassador
